How to overcome the fear to the audience; minimalistic approach to presentations


Presenting a speech can cause fear to most people. The thought of speaking to the audience makes them avoid anything that might lead to that. Are you one of the people that sweat, fear and have your heart pounding? You can overcome it by doing the following:

Practice

It is often said that practice makes perfect. If you must overcome the fear of the audience during presentations, you need to rehearse what you will say multiple times. It might be difficult for people with tight schedules to practice but practising your presentation multiple times is vital if your presentation must be a rousing one. Try practising your presentation at the venue. You can write your speech down too. While you practice, record it and play it back to know where you need to work better. 

Attend Other Speeches


Another minimalist approach to presentations is to attend to other speeches. This is very essential Not only does it show respect to other presenters, but it also gives you the privilege to feel your the present audience. You will get to know the audience mood, what makes them happy, to laugh and otherwise. You will also benefit from learning the mistakes of other presenters and correcting them during yours. Learning from people’s experience is key to rendering great presentation. 

Arrive Early

Inasmuch you may only be needed to speak for some minutes or hour during the whole meeting, arriving at the presentation venue very early is essential. This is important as you will have enough time to settle in before being welcomed to the platform to talk. Going to presentation early is also good to avoid traffic issues which might cause you to be nervous after arriving late.  

Adjusting to the Environment 


The more adjusted you are to the environment where you will be speaking, the more you will feel confident to speak. Spend time in the room where the presentation will be delivered. If it possible, make use of the microphone while practising. Understand the seating and get used of potential distractions from the environment such as noise from the road outside. 

Meet and Greet 

You do not need to stay one place alone when you arrive at the venue for the presentation. Interact and great people before the commencement of your presentation. When you talk with audiences, you present yourself as someone approachable and this can make them like you even before you start. Asking event attendees questions is good to approach You can get inspiration from them to weave into your presentation. 

Use Positive Visualization

Being positive is an approach of overcoming the fear of speaking you must practice. Imagine yourself giving a rousing presentation in your mind. Most times what we envisioned in our mind comes to be. Try as much as possible to avoid negative visualization. Instead of thinking you will be terrible or embarrass yourself, see yourself making the whole audience happy. 

Breath Deeply 


Our muscles tend to tighten when we are nervous. This can even lead one to hold his breath. Overcome this by taking breathing deeply to allow the flow of oxygen into your brain. This will also make you relaxed. Then go all out and give a remarkable presentation.
